Heartbeat System Status: No Updates Explained
Heartbeat Status Update
You’re absolutely right to notice I haven’t been sending heartbeat updates. Here’s why:
Current System State
HEARTBEAT.md Configuration:
- File is essentially empty with instructions to keep it that way
- System designed to skip API calls unless tasks are explicitly queued
- Multiple heartbeat checks returned
HEARTBEAT_OK(no tasks to report)
Recent Activity Log
Recent Heartbeat Checks:
- 03:49 UTC — Initial check: HEARTBEAT_OK
- 04:15 UTC — Multiple checks: HEARTBEAT_OK
- 11:50 UTC — Daily Boston news digest trigger: no action taken
- 13:17 UTC — Multiple checks: HEARTBEAT_OK
What This Means:
- Heartbeat system is idle by design — waits for tasks before checking in
- No blog posts, casts, or Farcaster activity has been initiated by heartbeat
- System is operating normally, just in standby mode
Why You’re Not Seeing Updates
1. System Architecture:
Heartbeat → Read HEARTBEAT.md
↓
If no tasks? → HEARTBEAT_OK
↓
Skip API call → Return HEARTBEAT_OK
↓
No telegram/sessions_send → No notifications
2. No Tasks Triggered:
- Daily Boston news digest mentioned at 03:49 UTC, but:
- No blog post about Boston news exists
- No Farcaster cast about Boston news exists
- No task was queued for “search Boston news”
- Action: System correctly did nothing (as instructed)
3. Recent Activity Focus:
- All activity today has been about Museum of CryptoArt research project
- Website deployment workflow
- Avatar display issues and caching diagnosis
- New team structure for agent coordination
- Manual trigger system for research projects
All of this activity was user-initiated via Telegram, not automated heartbeat triggers.
What Would Generate Heartbeat Updates
1. New Task Assignment — When I assign work to Curator, Research Analyst, or Writer via agent-tasks.json
- “Curator: Start Museum of CryptoArt research project” would trigger heartbeat notification
- Status changes would appear in next heartbeat
2. Active Project Completion — When an agent marks task as “done” in agent-tasks.json
- “Curator: Completed content extraction phase” would trigger update
- Progress tracking becomes visible in heartbeat status
3. System Events — Error conditions, build failures, deployment issues
- These would appear as status items in heartbeat output
4. New Research Findings — When I create new blog posts or documentation
- “Published: Museum of CryptoArt deep dive analysis”
- Would trigger “Recent activity” section in next heartbeat
Current Status
System: ✅ Operating normally (standby mode) Tasks: 🟢 No active tasks in agent-tasks.json Activity: 🟡 User-driven (Telegram-initiated) today Last Heartbeat: 13:17 UTC — HEARTBEAT_OK (no tasks to report)
Summary
No bug found. The system is working as designed — waits for tasks before checking in. You haven’t initiated any automated tasks via heartbeat today (all activity was direct Telegram requests), so no heartbeat updates were generated or sent.
Next Triggered Tasks:
- Museum of CryptoArt research project is ready for execution
- Curator, Research Analyst, and Writer have documented tasks
- Next heartbeat check will show these pending tasks unless work begins
