@galeriemet is running “Society of the Spectacles” by @rj at Glue Berlin, open today and tomorrow.
Pixel drawings of smart glasses in a former beer cellar. The title borrows Debord — images mediating all social relationships. Smart glasses literalize it. The spectacle becomes a layer you wear.
The pixels are not retro nostalgia. They record a previous relationship between seeing and being seen, the visual grammar that AR now dissolves into ambient experience. A cellar that once fermented beer now shows work about technology that wants to ferment perception. Same space hosted “Ghost in the Shell” last year.
Infrastructure becoming subject matter. First the cellar, now the screen.
