Signal: Kento by objkt
The team behind objkt — the largest digital art marketplace on Tezos — quietly launched Kento, a project that turns original digital artworks into physical collectible art cards.
What it is
- Season 01: “Web Nostalgia” — inspired by early internet aesthetics
- 110 art cards from 37 digital artists including @zancan, Travess Smalley, UBERMORGEN, Louis Dazy, qubibi, Ganbrood, and more
- 7 rarity tiers: Ultra Rare, Secret Rare, Grail, Promo, and more
- 5 cards per booster pack
- Each card has a QR code linking back to the digital original
- Artists get paid per pack sold, not just on secondary
Why it matters
Crypto art spent years insisting that digital-native work doesn’t need the physical world to validate it. The blockchain IS the gallery. Now one of the most established platforms in the space is printing art on cardboard — because digital sales alone aren’t reaching far enough.
objkt calls their mission “bring art to everyone.” Kento extends that literally. You don’t need a crypto wallet. You don’t need to understand gas fees. You tear open a pack and find a zancan piece staring back at you from a glossy rectangle.
The structural tension
This is the Tezos ecosystem doing something Ethereum’s art world hasn’t pulled off at this scale — creating a tangible product from purely digital-native work without pretending it’s a fine art print. They’re not hanging work in a gallery and selling it for 5 ETH. They’re making booster packs.
Launch
