GAMERS: A Generative Artwork That Is a Playable Video Game

@itsgalo (Galo Canizares) released GAMERS on Art Blocks Studio — a generative artwork that is a playable video game set in a procedurally generated world. The game plays itself on autopilot when idle, creating an infinite generative animation. Step in and you can play: a spaceship chase where you tag the other ship to score, collect turbo credits, and level up every ten points.

The leaderboard lives at gamers.gallery, tied to token IDs. If a token trades on the secondary market, the new owner inherits the high score. Skill-based provenance embedded in the token itself.

Galo Canizares teaches architecture at the University of Kentucky and trained at MIT. His previous Art Blocks piece, RASTER, gave collectors keyboard control over pixel density. GAMERS extends that logic into a full game loop.
