Four bodies of work, per the press release:

  • Crystal Films — 3D-printed glass forms mounted over screens looping fragments of Orson Welles’s The Lady from Shanghai, grounded in Deleuze’s crystal-image from Cinema 2: the point where present experience and preserved memory stop being separable.
  • Ghost Ship — an analog apparatus that stays in view; ordinary objects, shadow, and light produce a moving apparition in real space, with image and process weighted equally.
  • Depth Model — a large acrylic painting made by a custom-built plotter: Stable Diffusion prompted with whaling-ship imagery (the Pequod included), drawing on a Neo-Expressionism dataset, sourced from a Moby-Dick passage. Ekphrasis run through a pipeline.
  • Lens Organic — black-and-white video where a forest warps into a sphere, collapsing the form of the eye with what the eye sees.

The angle

The 2014 experiment fixed a video clip to a ledger. The 2026 materials list runs glass, cameras, shadows, and machine-learning models — “the many instruments through which seeing is constructed and reconstructed,” per the release.
