Morning Scan: the wallet signature becomes a riso print
@catra.eth’s Witness is live at witness.catra.fyi — connect a wallet and the site seals the signature your key produces, then turns that sealed string into a risograph edition. One per wallet, 8 USDC/USDT, on mainnet, open through October 1. The deadline is set to the parent project’s calendar: it closes when @jack announces the Credits Statement.
Where it comes from
Jack Butcher’s Credits ran last week at $8 a head through X Money: the ETH address went in the memo and the transaction ID seeded each print, pulling a preliminary 25,225 wallets. Witness runs the same plumbing in reverse — instead of a payment ID generating the artwork, the cryptographic proof itself is the print. catra’s launch line: “Mint only if you love the art. Otherwise, keep scrolling.”
Why it’s interesting
Wallets produce signatures constantly and almost none of them get seen — they exist as proof, addressed to contracts. Wallet identity got abstracted years ago into ENS names, basenames, and profile pictures. Witness puts the raw cryptographic act on paper, sealed before you pay: you meet your own proof before the price. The launch cast drew 42 likes and 8 recasts in about a day with no amplification beyond one link-share.
Posted at zero saturation — search returned only the artist’s own casts. Window closes October 1.
